Roy Chehwane after visiting the President of the Republic: It gave me greater hope that Lebanon will emerge from all its crises

Roy Chehwane: President Aoun gave us hope for the return of investments

Warada el An correspondent Ms. Mirvat El Khoury has met with Mr. Roy Georges Chehwane, member of the Lebanese-Cypriot Business Council and Executive Director of Plus Holding Group. The meeting comes after Mr Chehwane was received for a meeting today at Baabda Palace with President General Joseph Aoun, along with the members of the Council and its new President, Mr. David Issa.
Chehwane noted that “The visit gave me greater hope that Lebanon will emerge from all its crises, and that the Lebanese-Cypriot relationship is solid and set for further strengthening and development.”

In response to a question, Roy Chehwane said: “President Aoun’s speech today in front of the president and members of the Council increased our hope and optimism that investments will return to Lebanon as soon as the war stops, and that the Lebanese-Cypriot relationship is very good at the political level between the two countries and that this will quickly reflect on economic relations as well, once the Lebanese scene witnesses security and political stability, thanks to the successes of Lebanese businessmen in various sectors on the island and the relationships they have built over the years with prominent Cypriot companies and economic figures.”

In response to a question about his presence in the Lebanese-Cypriot Business Council, which had been established by his father, founding businessman Georges Chehwane, he said: “My father is the founder and the permanent sponsor and supporter of every activity that enhances the partnership between Lebanon and Cyprus. But Georges Chehwan loves, as always, to give opportunities to the new generation, whether in the companies he founded or in every activity he was behind. We always wish success in everything that seeks to develop and improve Lebanese-Cypriot relations.”

Chehwane concluded his by expressing his thanks and appreciation to Cyprus, the neighboring and friendly state, which has always opened its doors to the Lebanese, whether they were investors or Lebanese seeking peace, stability and security.
